You’ll meet with Dr. Sara Estrin, MD, board-certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine and The Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP). Medical weight management and metabolic health are our focus. We also offer individual visits for menopause, acne and skincare, birth control, hair loss, and uncomplicated anxiety/depression. Prescriptions depend on medical appropriateness. We don’t provide comprehensive primary care or prescribe controlled substances, including testosterone or benzodiazepines.
Choose your concern on our Services page and book directly in Healthie. À la carte services are available for first and return visits without a membership or a weight-management consultation. New weight-management patients start with the $50 initial consultation; existing members use their member scheduling pathway.
Standard à la carte rates are $75 for 15-minute skincare, birth-control, and hair-loss visits; $100 for 30-minute menopause or anxiety/depression visits; and $125 for a 30-minute multiple-concern visit. A payment method is required at booking, and completed à la carte visits are charged through Healthie. We are a direct-pay practice and do not bill insurance. Medication and lab costs are separate.
There’s no separate charge for routine refills when your treatment is stable and no additional medical evaluation is needed. If symptoms, monitoring, medication changes, or safe prescribing require reassessment, an appointment may be needed at the applicable service rate. Weight-management follow-ups included in an active membership remain covered.
Yes. Active weight-management members receive $50 visits for eligible skincare, birth control, hair loss, menopause, and anxiety/depression care. Existing service-specific visit lengths stay the same. Multiple-concern visits are excluded and remain $125 for 30 minutes. Use your Healthie portal to arrange eligible member-rate care; standard public links show regular à la carte rates.
We see adults 18+ who are physically in Iowa, Texas, Nevada, or Florida during the visit. Complete your assigned intake and consent forms, have a payment method on file, and join your Healthie video visit from a private space with a reliable internet connection. Some concerns may need in-person care or referral.
Absolutely—our services are growing! Email sara@modernmetabolics.health to ask whether we may be able to help through virtual care. Please don’t send sensitive medical information by regular email; use the secure patient portal for clinical details. An inquiry doesn’t guarantee that we can treat a condition.
For weight management, these medicines are generally considered for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related health condition. They aren’t right for everyone. Dr. Estrin reviews your history, medications, goals, and individual risks during your consultation before recommending treatment.
When medically appropriate, options may include semaglutide or tirzepatide, alongside other non-controlled treatment options. Every plan is individualized using your history, goals, and current medical evidence. If you’re already taking a brand-name or compounded medication, Dr. Estrin will review your current treatment and help determine the best next step.
Medication costs are separate from consultation and membership fees. Your cost depends on the medicine, pharmacy, insurance benefits, and any available manufacturer programs. We’ll discuss options during your visit. Our medication-coverage resource can help you explore options; coverage and prices must be confirmed with your insurer or pharmacy.
The standard membership is $100/month and includes one weight-management follow-up per month, medication management, secure messaging, individualized nutrition and lifestyle guidance, and treatment adjustments based on your progress. Included follow-ups aren’t charged separately. Existing founding-member pricing and agreements remain in effect. Medication and laboratory costs are separate.
Obesity is a chronic condition, and some people benefit from long-term medication to maintain their progress. Weight regain can occur after stopping. The decision depends on your response, side effects, health needs, and preferences. Dr. Estrin will review the benefits and risks with you over time and plan any treatment changes together.
